As tax payment deadlines approach, what help is available for clients who may not have to funds available to settle their outstanding tax liabilities?
Self-assessment
To help those affected by the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, self-assessment taxpayers who had a second payment of account to pay for 2019/20, which was due for payment by 31 July 2020, could opt to delay making that payment. Under the original proposals, as long as the delayed payment is paid by 31 January 2021, along with any remaining tax due for 2019/20, there is no interest to pay.
